Living with a kitten is a new experience for the Yamada family, and the newly named Chi is quite a handful. Cha Hyun is a reclusive high school student who spends his days holed up in his room playing video games. However, the apartment complex in which the family lives doesn't allow pets, so a lot of time is spent preventing the landlady and the other tenants from seeing Chi. Later, the Yamadas move into a new house, and Chi has to adjust once again to her new surroundings. Chi's Sweet Home has many characters, but most of them don't really matter except for Chi. Cocchi is the closest thing to an important character in my opinion, but maybe I'm just biased because I really liked him. Blackie was also a great character, and I loved how he was a mentor-type figure to Chi, keeping her out of trouble to the best of his abilities. Yohei is very childish, which is fair, given that he is a child, and sometimes gets mad at Chi, but it's always heartwarming to see them make up.

Is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kanata Konami. It was serialized in Kodansha's seinen manga magazine Weekly Morning from 2004 to 2015, with its chapters collected in twelve tankōbon volumes. The manga has been licensed for North American distribution by Vertical Inc. An anime adaptation lasting two seasons aired from March 2008 to September 2009. A 3DCG anime television adaptation lasting two seasons aired from October 2016 to September 2018. While out for a stroll with her cat family, a kitten ends up separated from them and gets completely lost.
Lost in her surroundings, the kitten struggles to find her family and instead is found by a young boy, Youhei, and his mother. They take the kitten home, but as pets are not allowed in their housing complex, they try to find her a new home. This proves to be difficult, and the family decides to keep the kitten. While being housebroken, she mistakenly answers to "Chi," (the Japanese word for "small", can also be "urine") and this becomes her name. Chi then has a splendid time living with her new family, learning about different things and meeting new people and animals.

Contrary to the serialized version, which is black and white, the tankōbon version is in full color. The manga is still ongoing as of April 2009, with an upcoming 7th volume to be released in the Spring of 2010. Ann the kitten has grey fur exactly like Chi in the manga, in the CGI series, she has much lighter grey or lilac fur. She is also a blotched tabby, like her mother as opposed to her 'mackerel' tabby siblings. This is probably to make it easier to tell her and Chi apart. The anime is produced by Madhouse, and each episode is three minutes long.
The reboot's episodes are about ten minutes long as opposed to three. The first season aired 51 episodes and it has now begun its second season. This series follows the adventures of Chii, a lost kitten taken in by a young couple with a toddler. While the family never intends to keep the kitten, Chii slowly claws herself a niche in their family, winning over everyone with her kitten idiocy and charm.
